Family and Consumer Science programs teach youth the life skills needed to be successful adults. The goal is to take SUEP FCS programming to the community. We aim to improve students’ ability to be successful in today’s world. To accomplish this, students will learn and use 21st-century skills through firsthand experiences and be challenged to think critically and creatively to address real-life situations while working effectively in a team. We plan to offer a wide variety of workshops including Teen Cuisine, Health, Nutrition, and Youth/Child Development. We also address Agricultural-related topics. ASUEP Family and Consumer Science camps will teach students valuable skills they will use for a lifetime!

The pg电子下载 State University Summer Music Camp introduces students to a variety of music including choral, instrumental, classical, jazz, and world music. This four-day camp meets daily June 3 – June 6 from 9:30 am to 4:00 pm. Late pick-up ends at 4:30 pm (see schedule). The camp is open to students ages 11–17. Camp fees are $100 before June 1; and $200 dollars after June 1, 2024. Lunch and snacks are provided daily at no additional cost.

The pg电子下载 State University School of Agriculture and Applied Sciences has opened the application period for its 2024 AgDiscovery Summer Enrichment Camp. Students grades 7- 11, who are interested in careers in agriculture with a focus in the areas of animal science or veterinary medicine, are encouraged to apply.
pg电子下载 State University school of Ag and Applied Sciences and the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) offers those summer outreach program for middle and high school students. It is a unique chance to live and study on a college campus and get a first-hand look at the various career paths open in agricultural sciences.
This year, 21 institutions will participate in AgDiscovery, with camps focused on various topics, including: marine biology, animal welfare, agriculture economics, plant, and soil science and more! The two-week camp is free and is scheduled to be held at pg电子下载 State University’s Lorman campus on June 9-11, 2024.
Program Overview:
pg电子下载 State University TRiO Talent Search is a pre-college program that helps identify and assist 6th through 12th grade students from disadvantaged backgrounds but have the potential to succeed in higher education. pg电子下载 State University has two branches of Educational Talent Search: Talent Search 61 North and Talent Search 61 South. Talent Search 61 North currently serves middle school and high school students in Claiborne, Warren, and Sharkey counties. The program provides academic, career, and financial counseling to its participants and encourages them to graduate from high school and continue to complete their postsecondary education. The goal of Talent Search is to increase the number of disadvantaged youths who complete high school and enroll in and complete their postsecondary education.
Camp Overview:
The pg电子下载 State University Talent Search Let’s E.L.E.V.A.T.E. Residential Summer Camp is designed to provide current Talent Search high school participants with a two-week enrichment that combines academics with personal and professional develop appropriate for the participants maturity and growth. The deadline to submit the application is Wednesday, May 8, 2024.

Camp Audience:
The Talent Search North camp is open to 30 current 9th-12th grade Talent Search participants in Vicksburg Warren School District, Claiborne County School District, and South Delta School District.
Summer Camp Cost:
The summer enrichment camp is at no cost to the student/ parent. On-campus meals, housing, and transportation will be provided to all participants.

Camp Direction/ Purpose:
Upward Bound is a pre-college preparatory program that provides fundamental support to participants in their preparation for college entrance. The program provides opportunities for participants in higher education pursuits. The Summer Residential Phase is a six-week summer program in which the participants will be staying on campus, attending classes, participating in work study opportunities, and receive a simulated college experience. Students also get the opportunity to travel as we embark on educational/cultural field trips.

Audience/ Age Range: Transitioning 9th grade- 12th grade students (ages 13-18) In the following counties: Adams, Claiborne, Jefferson, and Wilkinson.

Purpose of MSEIP Program:
The purpose of the summer 2024 MSEIP program is to create an experiential biology workshop for high school teachers that incorporate chemistry and math with in-depth integration of state standards for biology, math and chemistry. This idea developed from our 2020 summer program where it became evident that participating high school teachers were not incorporating these three areas together, creating gaps in the knowledge base for incoming freshman
The Summer Technology Camp is designed for youth entering grades 4 – 12 with educational, creative, and recreational activities offered each day. Students are exposed to cutting edge topics involving science, mathematics and technology. It’s a chance to work in small teams, unleash creativity, and develop critical thinking skills while having fun. The camp will operate at either the pg电子下载 State University’s Lorman Campus or the Vicksburg Campus from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. each day while in session. The cost is $50.00 per student, per camp. Breakfast, lunch, and snacks will be provided.
This program is for youth entering grades 4-12. Students are exposed to Science, Computer Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) subjects. Students will explore hands on activities which including health physics technology, Geospatial Information Systems (GIS) technology, robotics and automation, digital communication/signal processing, electronics, english, mathematics, science, and computer technologies. They will also be involved in creative and recreational activities. The camp offers the students different opportunities to work in small teams, unleash creativity, and develop critical thinking skills while having fun.
pg电子下载 State University is collaborating with the Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT) and Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) to offer the 2024 Mississippi Summer Transportation Institute (MSTI) Summer Camp. During this two-week residential summer camp, participants will receive enrichment courses and labs in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM), as well as Job and Life Skills peer mentoring. MSTI will offer the opportunity to explore career choices available in transportation and engage in a wide range of activities that are both educational and enjoyable.
Camp Dates: Sunday, June 9, 2024 – Saturday, June 22, 2024
MSTI Objectives:
- To foster the use of the team approach to problem solving, develop communications skills, utilize technology and STEM-based skills required into today’s workforce.
- To introduce the modes of transportation: land, sea, air, and water transportation. Focusing on related industries, government facilities, and transportation providers to expose students to applications of STEM knowledge.
- To explore various careers in the transportation arena and correlate the workforce as it relates to America’s competitive edge in STEM fields.
- To engage in leadership training sessions focusing on networking and developing leadership skills and enhancing.
- Provide activities to enlighten, build critical thinking skills, and introduce students to aspects of college life.
Student must meet the qualifications listed below:
- Be a rising Freshman, Sophomore or Junior for the upcoming school year (2024-2025).
- Submit a completed MSTI Application.
- Copy or photo of last Report Card (2023-2024 School Year).
- Applicants must have a minimum Grade Point Average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.
- Essay: (A minimum of 100 words typed double spaced explaining your interest in the Mississippi Summer Transportation Institute Program and the field of transportation as a possible career. Essay can uploaded or emailed to [email protected].
